Why do some symbols, stories, artworks, fictional characters and mythical creatures move use? Why do people queue up and break the bank to watch fantasy movies? Symbols are all around us in nature and culture, but most people walk straight past them. Here, we unpack the mysteries of ancient symbols, myths and masterpieces of art, show how they erupt in popular culture today and reveal what work they do in (re)making self and society. Symbols speaks to us, guide us to maximize our potential, help us to live our lives to the fullest, and steer us through uncertainty. If we ignore symbols, past and present, we remain less than we can be. If we open ourselves to their work, absorb their lessons to our inner world…symbols can move us…to be more than we are. We work with individuals and organizations, and in society more broadly, to uncover the mythological frame within which symbols make sense to our lives and in our metamorphosis. Our work on symbols includes research, dialogue projects, and education. We invite all students of culture to explore and discuss symbols that move us.
